Water in BechyněIn Bechyně there is one river, one stream, one pond and one cleaner sewage plant.The river is Lužnice, Lužnice flows into the Vltava river. The pond is called Trubný ,it is a small pond, but in winter we can skate on it. The stream is called Smutný and it is a small stream. This stream flows into the river Lužnice. And the cleaner sewage plant is big and more than 10,000 gallons of water flow through per a day.

The importance of water for arising settlement

Most cities were often founded near rivers, lakes and brooks so

that people would have closer distance to drinking water and

didn't have to import it from elsewhere. People use water for

irrigating fields or for some crafts. Then people started made artificial

basins= ponds. Artificial basins serve as reservoirs of water or for breeding of fish. The biggest pond in the Czech Republic is Rožmberk,

which is in Třeboň. On Rožmberk we can see the curvature of earth.

In the Czech republic we have river Vltava and in underground we have stones Vltavín. We in the Czech Republic sell it maximal for two thousand Czech crowns, but we can find it on fields or meadows. On confluence of Labe and Vltava there is city Mělník. Vltava is the longest river in the Czech Republic and Labe is the largest river. On rivers Vltava, Otava, Lužnice, Nežárka and Malše we transported wood from Czech to Germany. Our city Bechyně lies on confluence of Smutná and Lužnice.

Písek

Písek Stone Bridge The Písek Stone Bridge is the oldest bridge on

the area of Czech Republic and one of two oldest bridges in Central Europe.

Professions connected to Water● Diver● Diver sinks into the depths of the sea, river

or dam and explores the levels and creatures in the water. Diving can be either for recreation ( even on professional level) or it can be someone´s job

● Fisherman● Fisherman cleans and maintains ponds and

lakes and catches fish. You can find fisherman at Lipno . A fisherman is someone who captures fish and other animaks drom a body of water or gathers shellfish. Fishing equipment are rods , fishing nets and pots

● Ferryman● In earlier time , this man derried people

from one coast to another...Now we can still find people like this working at big dams . ( e.g.Lipno) because people still need to get from one bank to another

Professions● Sampler od Drinking Water● Sampler of drinking water is done for

consumption of drinking and rough water at supply place . The sampler makes chemical analysis of water to make ure nothing bad is in it so that people can drink it

● Lifeguard● A lifeguard supervises the safety and

rescues swimmers , surfes and other water sports participants such as in a swiming pool , water park or beach

● Fireman● A fireman is a rescuer extensively treined in

firefighting , promarily to extinguish hazardous fire that threatens property and civilian or natural populations and to rescue people from dangerous situations , like collapsed or burning buildings or crashed vehicle
