WHAT IS CLIMATE CHANGE?CLIMATE CHANGE, ALSO CALLED GLOBAL WARMING, REFERS TO THE RISE IN AVERAGE SURFACE TEMPERATURES ON EARTH.

WHAT IS THE MAIN CAUSE OF CLIMATE CHANGE?

Scientific consensus maintains that climate change is due primarily to the human use of fossil fuels, which releases carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the air. The gases trap heat within the atmosphere, which can have a range of effects on ecosystems, including rising sea levels, severe weather events, and droughts that render landscapes more susceptible to wildfires.

JOIN THE FIGHT!

Public Health can be affected by disruptions of physical, biological, and ecological systems, including disturbances originating here and elsewhere. The health effects of these disruptions include:

• increased respiratory and cardiovascular disease• injuries and premature deaths related to extreme weather events• changes in the prevalence and geographical distribution of food- and water-

borne illnesses and other infectious diseases, and threats to mental health.

Global ConsensusWidespread scientific consensus exists that the world’s climate is changing. Some of these changes will likely include more variable weather, heat waves, heavy precipitation events, flooding, droughts, more intense storms, sea level rise, and air pollution.

Each of these impacts could negatively

affect public health.Cdc.gov,. "CDC - Climate And Health Program - Homepage". N. p., 2015. Web. 15 Dec. 2015.

WE FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT, AGAINST ALL ODDS!

There are substantial barriers to fast, easy, economical solutions! The difficulty in effectively implementing concrete policy measures was usually explained by a range of limiting factors such as:

ecological (natural constraints) economic (level of poverty, lack of financial

resources), technological (insufficient knowledge,

unavailability of adequate technology) and the weakness of state institutionsOurworld.unu.edu,. "Political Barriers To Climate Change

Adaptation - Our World". N. p., 2015. Web. 15 Dec. 2015.

HOW DO WE OVERCOME THESE OBSTACLES? OR DO WE ADAPT?

“ITS “NATURAL” OR CAN’T BE FIXED, JUST ADAPT”… OR NOT…

IPCC  Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) acknowledges that some of the changes will be beneficial – including higher crop yields in places like Canada, Europe and Central Asia – and in some cases, such as Switzerland people will be able to adapt to the effects of Climate Change. Adaptations could include better flood defenses or building houses that can withstand tropical cyclones.

Clean It and Cool It ProjectWe believe that it is a “no-brainer”--- emissions have to be reduced, the air is polluted, the earth is getting sick, animals and people are suffering. We understand the need to adapt to “what is”, until things improve, but resources need to be directed and invested in the implementation of policy supporting a future with a cleaner planet, a cooler planet, therefore a healthier people.

POLLUTION• GREEN JOBS AND CLEAN

ENERGY• DRIVE SMARTER CARS• GREEN HOMES AND BUILDINGS• BETTER COMMUNITIES AND
