Always take a friend when walking or riding your bike to and from school.Stay with a group while waiting at the bus stop.If someone you don’t know or feel comfortable with offers you a ride, say no.If someone follows you on foot, get away from him or her as quickly as you can.Never leave school with someone you don’t know.Leave items and clothing with your name on them at home.Trust your feelings.

Never stay alone near water.Keep cleaning materials and other chemicals away.Any firearms should be unloaded and locked away.Keep sleeping areas as bare as possible.Cover electrical outlets and electrical wires.Install a smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector.Be prepared for an emergency.
