SOLDIERS AND SCRIBES

WHAT DID THEYEAT?
SCRIBES Fowls, vegetables, beans, peas and lentils.
SOLDIERS Bread and some vegetables.
WHY? Because it was easy to obtain.

SCRIBES They studied the hieroglyphic language. They wrote on papyrus.
SOLDIERS Soldiers did not have any studies, they were prepared to fight.
THE WORK OF SCRIBES
They wrote books and documents by hand on papyrus. They used libraries.
They were privileged people because of knowing hieroglyphics.
THE WORK OF SOLDIERS
They were prepared to fight. They used bows and arrows.
They defended the city from the enemies.
WHERE DID THEY LIVE?
Scribes and soldiers lived in houses made of adobe and they lived in villages that were near a temple.
THEIR CLOTHES, COSTUMES
The soldiers wore expecial clothes for fighting.
Scribes wore a white waist and they don’t wore any t shirt.
THEIR FAMILYTheir family was usually from their same status.
THEIR GAMES
Board games were very popular and many different kinds existed, both for two players at a time and multiple players. One of the most popular was senet.

Why was being a Scribe a difficult job?Because, there were hundreds of different hieroglyphs to remember.
How long did it take to train as a Scribe?It took as long as twelve years to train.
Could an Egyptian girl become a Scribe?No, only boys.

WHY WERE SCRIBES IMPORTANT?
Almost all of our known knowledge about the ancient Egyptians came from the work and art of the ancient Egyptian scribe.
WHY WERE EGYPTIAN SOLDIERS IMPORTANT?
Egyptian soldiers discovered new weapons that we still use in the present.
