It’s a huge place, with many different appellations, styles of wine & soils

Grape varietie

Sauvignon Blanc- Fruit balanced with

lively acidity and lots of minerality in

this region

Chenin Blanc- aromatic, apple-y and delicious- a

versatile and complex grape

variety

Melon de Bourgogne- the

grape of Muscadet- high acidity- lovely

with shellfish

Cabernet Franc- sometimes austere

but in the right hands, fragrant and

delicious

Gamay- Juicy and fruit forward with

high acidity- a great food wine

Pinot Noir- an aromatic wine

blended in the Loire by new producers to create really exciting

wines
