Bordeaux makes rosé? - “I thought they only did reds”, well they actually do all three: red, white and rosé! The wines from this estate are awesome and we stock the lot – but seeing as this is a piece on rosé… Thomas Le Grix de la Salle is making a modern almost Provence styled rosé. Coral pink in colour with delicate red fruit a stunning rosé with the structure to go well with food and still be a great aperitif.

Currently producing the most exquisite of Rosé’s, lighter in colour and in style than the wines of Bandol. This is a superstar of a Rosé & worthy of the Ott dynasty. Founded in the 1930’s when Marcel Ott bought this fantastic property wedged between the sea and the hills near Londe les Maures close to Brégançon. A classic South of France favourite, Domaine Ott stays popular this year for good reason.

Secret de Leoube is the young pretender on the block, beautifully packaged and ever-so delicious. Small quantities are produced, but gaining a following - a sure wow!
Owned by the Banford familiy of JCB fame - all those diggers recently came in handy as they’ve just rebuilt the cellars to work on gravity feed. Meaning the fruit and the juice isn’t pumped, helping preserve the integrity of the fruit and protects both the wine and perfumes from being damaged.

Chateau D'esclans stormed the SuperYacht scene about five years ago and has not lost its crown since.This stunning and seriously good Rosé is the brain-child of Sasha Lichine, (with a bit of help from the ex Maitre de Chai of Mouton Rothschild, a chap called Patrick Leon). The Whispering Angel is a good starting point on the route to their more serious wine offerings; les Clans and The Garrus. Some of their wines are even barrel-aged. Together they’ve produced a series of stunning rosés.

NUMBER 1: In a strikingly attractive bright blue bottle, this pale, dry and elegant Rosé is as naturally-made as possible. Clos Beylesse is unfiltered, with no chemicals added, a “vin de nature”. Health-conscious guests will adore this wine.Domaine L’Abbaye is owned by Monsieur Petit, who arrived to meet Penum in a copper coloured Hummer - you know the man is a character before he’s even out of the cab! He’s from flower trade, previously growing Peonies, hence the acknowledgement of the source of his fortune on the label.This Rosé's perfume and fruit is in perfect balance, and made in tiny quantities. This is our favourite Rosé for the season and beyond!
