The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) partners with Homeland Security to aid Americans and people in other countries in case a major disaster occurs. They give out food and water and help provide shelter to those who have lost their homes. FEMA has high standards as to who they will actually help in case of a disaster, and few people actually qualify. The only way to contact FEMA is through the internet or by phone. But as most preppers know, these are always down during major catastrophes. So it is often impossible to contact them or even get help in finding their phone number.

Although FEMA has been stockpiling MRE’s, water, and other supplies for quite a while now, it takes even more than what they have to feed a multitude of people who are in need. There simply will not be enough food and water for everyone. And some sources say that this has been FEMA’s plan all along.

If people don’t know how to live off of the land and survive on their own, then they have to turn to others who have the supplies that they need. This means that FEMA has a greater control over the population of those who are desperately hungry and thirsty.

The amount of people in need will spell trouble during a catastrophe. Tensions will be high as people go into panic mode. Supply storage facilities may be raided and the food stolen as well, which will prevent careful distribution plans from working.
