OUR VISION
But First….
Vision:To see a University of the West Indies where RESIDING and COMMUTING students will be ONE RECOGNIZED, UNIFIED BODY with a centralized culture that fully reflects the essence of Pelican Pride.
Our mission for 2015-2016 is to bridge the cultural gap between the commuting students’ body and the UWI Pelican Pride with initiatives that will foster holistic integration and the creation a unified force of commuters whom are proud to be UWI Pelicans.
Underlying Objectives To Lay the foundation
for a new commuting students identity to be built on
To Bridge the cultural gap between commuters and halls of residence
To create a unified community of commuting students
To represent the interests of commuting students through advocacy
Advocacy Pursuits Lobby for Policy reforms to include a student voice in the
governance of the commuting students’ lounge
Maintain at least a 70%:10 complaints response rate to complaints
Rebrand the commuting students’ lounge which will be characterised primarily with an original commuting students’ sign
Get official approval to claim the identity as the Commuting Pelicans

Public Relations Initiatives Introduction of a YouTube
channel: “Commuters Chronicles”
Creation of a Commuters Blog: www.commutersconnect.com
Implementing weekly “Commuter Walks”
Staging Monthly Commuters “Coffee Breaks”
Revamping of the “Know Your Reps” Campaign
Introduction of a “Famous Commuters” Campaign
Distribution of “Commuters Packs” (Orientation days)

Staging a CSEC/CAPE Book Drive

Stage benefit play to raise funds for renovation project at our adopted school
Execute a leadership seminar for teachers-in-training
