Digipak Analysis - The Fayre ‘Rose
Queen’George Atkinson
Front Cover • In the front conver of this
digipak we are what looks like an abandon area of the London underground sector. The meanings that are created in this image there is always going to be someone that cares about you, even if you don’t see them. I say this because if you closer in the image you can see a character in the black walking towards us.
Back cover• The back cover of the
digipak tells us a lot more information about the band and the music genre that they are in the chill genre, basically suggesting they make music to chill to and if you listen carefully there is deeper meanings in their music. This image suggests this due to the colour scheme and the comparison to the front cover. The front cover it was dark and mysterious and now the back cover is white and calm.
Inside 1
• The first inside section of this digipak is one of the band members baker street on the London underground circuit. The meanings that are created in this image is meant to suggest that time will go on and everything ages in the end.
Inside 2• The second inside section
to this digipak is an upside down photo of on of the band members, we also have another member in this image but he is out of focus in the background. I believe this image is here to tell us about the genre and the time period of the band. I believe this again suggests the genre to be chilled and time period being late 90s
Inside 3 • The 3rd inside section of
this digipak is an image of one of the band members head of quitars. All that this image is doing is telling the reader of the genre of the music to be indie chill type music. This is because only these bands use guitars. The colour scheme being used could back up the indie genre.
Inside 4• In the last inside section of
this digipak we have another upside down image of one of the members of the band. This image is telling us more about the bands genre, the instruments that are being used suggests that the band are in the indie genre and partly the chill genre. We can also back this up due to the colour scheme that has been used. The black and white scheme has been used in a lot of indie digipak so this is why we can back it up.
