HWNT PURPOSE• The Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas (HWNT), is a non-profit

state-wide organization established in 1986.  HWNT’s Purpose is to seek to promote the advancement of women in public, corporate and civic life through education, personal and professional development.  • HWNT seeks to advance the educational, cultural, social, legal and

economic well-being of all women through a broader awareness of their role in society, business and family. • HWNT and its 11 Chapter’s state wide unite to celebrate the positive

image and values of its Hispanic heritage and empowering women across the great State of Texas.

MEMBER BENEFITSAt HWNT as a member you connect, engage and are enriched by the women in your local chapter and around the State.   HWNT offers a wide range of events, seminars and networking opportunities designed to address the needs of our membership. Every member is member of their local HWNT Chapter and HWNT State.• Local Chapter Benefits• Professional/ Leadership Development• Networking• Student Mentoring / Scholarships• State Benefits:• Annual Conference featuring distinguished speakers• Advocacy: HWNT represents your voice and policy positions at the local, state, and national

level. HWNT reports news, research, and analysis of legislation that impacts members.• Student Leadership Program:  HWNT champions efforts to enhance the life of young

professionals by hosting a “Student Leadership Conference” during its annual conference as well as educational programs at each of the local chapters.

• HWNT Member-Only Resource Page:  HWNT has a member’s only section on the webpage. This section contains resources that only current HWNT members can access.

• HWNT State:  Scholarships to selected local Chapter students.

LATINAS IN PROGRESSPurpose: The Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas (HWNT) developed an Education and a Scholarship Program to assist Latinas attain higher education.

Description: HWNT provides Education Programs through the Chapters for Latina high school students.  These Latinas will be provided scholarship opportunities and there are no fees associated with this program.

Outline: College Prep, Hispanic History, Leadership, Culture, Politics, and Civism, Writing Skills, Assertiveness Training, Life Skills (Health Awareness & Self-Improvement)
