My NGO (Cognizance Welfare Initiative) activities When my driver stopped my car near a Dhaba (a local restaurant), I was shocked to see a child who wasn't even 15 years old working. I approached him and asked how much he is paid. He replied saying that he makes 5000 rupees and sends 4500 to his family every month. He basically survives the whole month with that remaining 500 rupees, that is, less than 10 dollars! He is just as old as me but will never get a chance to learn about Ohm's law, never do an experiment in a lab, and never learn calculus. My NGO (Cognizance Welfare Initiative) activities

When my driver stopped my car near a Dhaba (a local restaurant), I was shocked to see a child who wasn't even 15 years old working. This is what instilled me to do something to my Indian community. This became the origin of my Initiative. “ Cognizance Welfare Initiative”.

Phase 1 : filling potholes

In phase 1 we filled over 30 potholes. With renowned pothole man sir “ gangadhar tilak” Our efforts were later recognised by BBC and other media channels.

In India, children lack many educational, practical and communication expertise if they study in government schools compared to the infrastructure and help children get from private schools. To make a sustainable difference, My ngo and I started teaching children life skills and eco green concepts to improvise india’s recycle system. Taught children basic programing, embedded systems. I made them build and program their own GPS system so that they can get a taste of invention; Conducted skype sessions and made underprivileged children interact with people across different countries and helped them broaden their view on the world.

Because of all my efforts, USA based NGO emailed me on merging my NGO with their NGO. they wanted to expand their NGO in India and they asked me to be the leader of their Indian Team. So I started helping them with their own projects. Such as accelerated reading project. My team and I had to travel to a village called khanigiri, and we helped Empower and Excel adopt a village called khanigiri. I explained my story on how cognizance was formed to 300 children of the rural vilalge.

I was interviewed by National News channels for all my efforts.

Cognizance welfare Initiative and E & E India Chapter Youth Team conducted a Book Drive as part of the" Accelerated Reading Project". It coincided with the Yearly Community Marathon. We had lot of inquiries about our project and also the various ways of the usage of these books, E & E Youth Team lead by Me, Siddharth Mandala has actively interacted with all the donors and enthusiasts. We also collected 100+ Books and some gently used Toys, in turn to donate them to the underprivileged Children. It is very encouraging to see the residents come forward to give away their donations, as book & toy drives are something new and not so common to the people around.Taking up such an initiative our volunteers made us all proud...we need to bring in the change in perceptions and lead this work to a good destination!!
