PGS Prevention Monthly Connect

AMH UpdateWork on the new PGS website oregonpgs.org is underway! The old site is still operational during this time. The plan is to build the website structure to include prevention and treatment resources. We are in the process of updating the tools for you as providers to utilizePGS Consultant Jeff Marotta has completed the interview process and is now compiling all the data that was provided. Next steps:

- Overview to AMH Leadership

- 4 Community forums in March to solicit possible solutions for AMH to consider when addressing identified system needs.

PGS Prevention Monthly ConnectAMH Update Continued:Lottery will developing new stickers for the VLT’s to include the new ability to text with the Helpline staffLottery is working on the development of the Spanish version of OPGR websiteDiscussed having a special in person meeting to allow enough time to do justice to environmental scan discussion. Providers on the call supported meeting the day prior to the Prevention Summit in the afternoon. Good news! Student Wellness Survey information will be ready for dissemination to the counties on the week of January 12th

Lottery Material Discussion

- 1st phase posters and business card

- 2nd phase general awareness brochure

Thank you for everyone’s input on the General Awareness brochure and business card. Please note that we are still planning on producing a brochure that is Parent/Teacher focused. The goal is to have the general awareness poster and business card available in late February. The lottery is working on the design and looking to us as the content experts. Once we have materials to share for feedback regarding design, Roxann will forward that out.

Oregon Problem Gambling Awareness Month DiscussionNational Theme: Problem Gambling is a Public Health IssueNational Slogan: Problem Gambling: Have the conversationThe goal is to have a message theme that carries beyond PGAM. What are others across the state planning to do:

1.Social media utilizing facebook and twitter

2.Video contest

3.Presentations collaborating with treatment providers in English and Spanish to raise awareness

4.Open house with training on Problem Gambling AwarenessSpecial request: Develop universal language for social media and other campaigns so we do not have conflicting messages. Roxann will share the information that comes from the National Problem Gambling Awareness Month work group around messaging etc., so everyone can have access to the same messaging for their campaigns. .
