Who are we? The beautiful Sunshine City!#

Fourth largest city in Florida, largest municipality in Pinellas County, which as a peninsula, is surrounded on 3 sides by water. Growing, thriving, prospering.

Contrary to popular belief, we are NOT: a big retirement home.

#

We are NOT a target for hurricanes#

We are NOT a stagnant cesspool of disease carrying mosquitoes waiting to infect the world with ZIKA!#

We ARE, as our Mayor Rick Kriseman says, a place where the sun shines on ALL who live, work, and play.#

Baseball (played inside) Go Rays!#

International destination: city of arts and culture, major sporting events like Grand Prix#

Beaches and wildlife.#

And a place where we, as City staff, are tasked with maintaining our critical infrastructure and City services so that residents and visitors alike can enjoy the highest possible quality of life.#

St Pete and Pinellas County:Pinellas population: 930,00, most densely populated county in FL (3,300 people/sq mi), but 2nd smallestPeninsula with 588 miles of coastline along Gulf and BaySt Pete is the largest municipality out of 24 in Pinellas with 245,000 residents (average age NOT 85, but 43!)Sunshine City with 361 days of sunny weather each yearIncorporated in 1903, named by Peter Demens, Russian railroad baron, after his birthplace1914, Baseball Spring Training came to St Pete, and first commercial airline flight from St Pete to Tampa110 Neighborhood and Business Associations

We are a closely knit community made up of neighborhoods, and SCF is the ultimate tool for affecting CHANGE on the neighborhood level.
