The Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago (JUF) works to sustain Jewish communities all around the world through Jewish education efforts. The JUF’s Jewish Day School Guaranty Trust Fund, which counts YosefMeystel as a supporter, collaborates with day schools in Chicago and provides financial backing based on enrollment numbers.

When the JUF started the fund, it was one of the first initiatives of its kind.

The fund has since matured into a regular and growing source of support for over a dozen schools in the Chicago area. Recently, the JUF has focused on finding donations to grow the fund’s endowment, which keeps it going year after year. In 2013, the JUF was successful in finding $2.7 million of additional funding, which brought the endowment total to $34 million. As a result, last year the organization was able to offer nearly $1.7 million to schools supported by the Jewish Day School Guaranty Trust Fund.
