Felix Jaehn - Ain’t Nobody I chose this for my first frame showing a close up dolly shot of two feet walking above a city (Barcelona). This is the opening of the music video; it begins with this shot of someone’s feet to cause question to who it is and a unique week to introduce the singer Jasmine Thompson. Allowing us to the backdrop helps identifies where its set therefore it gives an insight to the type of setting the whole video will be in. For dance and pop music a lot of the videos rely on commercialised settings and cities to show all the different activities going on and people. The following shot is a medium/ long shot of the singer with the same back drop, this is a recurring image throughout the music video as during these points we are

I chose this for my first frame showing a close up dolly shot of two feet walking above a city (Barcelona). This is the opening of the music video; it begins with this shot of someone’s feet to cause question to who it is and a unique week to

introduce the singer Jasmine Thompson. Allowing us to the backdrop helps identifies where its set therefore it gives an insight to the type of setting the whole video will be in. For dance and pop music a lot of the videos rely on

commercialised settings and cities to show all the different activities going on and people.

The following shot is a medium/ long shot of the singer with the same back drop, this is a recurring image throughout the music video as during these points we

are able to see the singer lip singing and dancing to the track. By focusing on the female singer, this attracts the male gaze; they also include her within the

narrative in music video even though it’s not focused on her ‘love’ story. This will be to attract a larger target audience as her fans will most likely want to watch it

if she appears within the video.

This shot is an extreme long shot showing the producer (Felix Jaehn) getting into a car, showing the car maybe a marketing/advertising strategy, by showing him

and including him in the narrative will increase popularity for the music video as fans would most likely want to see him performing or included in the video for

his own music. The colours have been quite pastel so far with the violet coloured sky showing the audience the climate in the area – perhaps identifying that it is

summer which gives the impression of a summer love.

This show is an extreme close up of man, we are introduced to him by this show and he’s in the left corner showing his actions of him getting ready, which gives

an idea on the time within the narrative.

There’s then a long shot of the couple bumping into each other, crossing the timeline of the two and foreshadowing the two of them and what the music

video/ song is based around. The setting looks very European and this situation is a very stereotypical situation to be in when a couple meet – they

talk by ‘bumping’ into each other accidentally.

The shot is a medium close up of another woman who is being introduced by waking up in bed which also shows the timeline of the narrative to follow.

Because it has shown these two people it gives the impression they may be a couple or a destined couple.

I thought this shot was important and influential as I would like to co operate dance/ performance within my narrative by using dancers, there’s the use of polly shots

which are always slightly moving following their movements and shots from the floor showing their feet. This in twines into the narrative as the video goes off to show us the timeline of the two people’s day and their interests (for her it’s dancing and for

him it’s skating). These two activities are quite conventional as it gives an indication to their age suggesting that they are both young and this also includes performance

into the music video along with the narrative.

There’s the use of a long shot showing the musician, Felix Jaehn with the skater boy, showing the two meeting up – this shows us that he is friends with him and knows the other girl which foreshadows that they may formally meet later in the video. I think this shot is important due to the different settings and colours used in this. The café setting is a very stereotypical setting for a couple to go to so perhaps this foreshadows the relationships involved in the music video and narrative.

One of the final shots is a long shot of the couple at sunset on a balcony, also showing the city scape in the back which relates back to the start of the music video. The rule of thirds is used appropriately here as the couple are positioned in the middle of the frame so that the focus is on them two as this was the main focus in the narrative. As of the body language we can tell that
