● write down your ultimate fitness goals● do only the things you can see yourself

following for a lifetime.● know your why for wanting to achieve your

fitness goals.● Set a realistic timeline for your goals● create short term benchmarks● work on keeping a positive attitude through

reading and support systems

Nutrition Tips

● eat often throughout the day but do not become obsessed.

● find healthy foods you enjoy and get creative with them.

● buy a healthy recipe book to give you ideas on how to add variety to your meals.

● do not mistake nutrition for a "diet" which has a negative connotation.

Quick Nutrition Guidelines

● eat lean proteins consisting of chicken, fish, lean beef, and turkey.

● eat complex carbohydrates consisting of whole grains, oats, and vegetables.

● eat healthy fats consisting of olive oil, nuts, fats from fish, and peanut butter.

● each meal have a protein and a carbohydrate together to stabilize blood sugar.

Weight Training

● do weight training/strength training minimum 2-3 times a week.

● change workout routine every 2-4 weeks. Never do the same thing over and over.

● start with doing 2-4 different exercises for 2-3 sets each exercise for 10-15 reps.

● progressively do more weight, rest less in between sets, or more reps for results and added intensity.

Cardio Training

● do cardio 3 times a week for health and maintenance and 4 or more times a week for weight loss, lowered body fat, and endurance.

● bike, elliptical, treadmill, and running outside are great activities to get your heart rate up.

● choose cardio activities that you enjoy. ● do cardio anywhere from 20-60 minutes

based off of fitness goals.

Myths of Fitness

● weight training will bulk women up.● all you need to do is do a lot of cardio and

you will lose weight. ● you can spot reduce. ● high reps automatically makes you more

defined. ● eating only low fat foods will make you lose

weight. ● you cannot eat carbs and lose weight. ● fat pills are all you need to be fit.
