Another way to treat constipation is a medicinal plant.

The mechanism of action is usually by stimulation / or traffic excitation by increasing fecal bolus.

Although plants are reputed harmless this is not entirely true and its chronic use is not advisable.

Dietary fiber is currently the recommendation of choice, at first

This is because: Retains water Increases stool volume. Accelerates intestinal transit. Osmotic pressure increases retaining water. Promotes peristalsis.

The normal diet should contain a minimum of 25 g. daily fiber, although it is advisable to reach the 30-40 g / day.

The average fiber intake in Spain is 12 g / day for women and 18 g / day for men, which is an amount well below the recommended and a predisposition to constipation.

It is a new concept for the treatment of constipation, based on a diet formula with original organoleptic characteristics that make COFILAC an innovative, efficient, safe, easy and pleasant to drink product. In addition, and unlike everyone else it can be drink in lifetime.

COFILAC is supported by the most recent scientific studies regarding its efficacy and safety.

COFILAC meets on their ingredients, not only a significant regulatory action, but also presents a number of properties that make the product an important integrative functional, being really resaltable their prebiotic action.

Inulin enriched with a specific fraction of oligofructose obtained by partial enzymatic hydrolysis

Inulin + oligofructose……..……. 50,00 % Arabian coffee……………..……... 35,00 % Robusta coffee………….………… 8,75 % Fructose…………………………….. 6,25 %

- It is a specific fiber which has two characteristics that make it unique.

- On one hand this is a fiber which has only appetite by lipids, not by the water as the remainder of the fibers.

- Furthermore selectively acts on the intestinal tract only, not on the stomach as with the rest of the fibers

Table 1: The base structure of inulin and oligofructose structure compared with sucrose (sugar). Structures containing inulin only GFn, with n comprised between 2 and 60, while oligofructose is a mixture of GFn and Fn, with n comprised between 2 and 8.

Table 2: effect of fiber COFILAC indigestion in stool frequency in healthy volunteers and (*) in older women who have constipation. The stool frequency is expressed as the number of bowel movements per week.

Table: 2. Stool bulking in healthy volunteers who had ingested 15g of vegetable fibers COFILAC every 24h. Stool bulking is expressed in grams of weight gain per gram of feces of fibers COFILAC ingested

This is exactly the same buying Nestle instant coffee, which is currently the market leader in its organoleptic perception.

This also makes a product COFILAC extremely effective, extremely pleasant to take and therefore our daily coffee substitute, also obtaining benefits COFILAC.

- Ellegärd i cols. (1997): In healthy volunteers have shown that 90% of the COFILAC’s fibers are fibers with a selective action on the small and large intestine and not in the stomach, which occurs with other fibers.

- Den Hond & Cols. (2000) , Gibson & cols.(1995): in healthy volunteers have demonstrated that daily ingestion of COFILAC’s fibers effectively induces an increase in stool weight. Taking only 2 packets of COFILAC a day, increase stool weight between 6 and 8 g per day.

- Den Hond & Cols. (2000) , Gibson & cols. (1995): healthy volunteers were taking COFILAC’s fibers induces an increased stool frequency.

- Kleesesen & cols. (1997): have shown that among elderly women suffering from constipation and taking COFILAC’s fibers induces to an increased stool frequency improved to a defecation scheme.
