• Received 5-year renewal award in 2011 (second largest institute of its kind nationwide)

• Supported the clinical research of1,500+ researchers from UCSF and affiliates – Includes wide-ranging resources across 8 Bay Area clinical

research sites

• Provided UCSF investigators with 22,000+ hours of expert consultations since 2006– Service areas range from biostatistics to research ethics

• Launched UCSF Profiles– Online networking and collaboration tool that enables

the discovery of research expertise at UCSF

• Created the UCSF Participant Recruitment Service – Helps researchers find and enroll participants in UCSF

clinical studies

• Awarded $4.5+ millionin pilot awards– Proportionally distributed across

UCSF’s 4 schools

• Established SF Bay HIP– SF Bay Health Improvement Program brings together

diverse community partners with the goal of creating measurable improvements in health in the Bay Area

• 28:1 ROI on initiative to advance multi-site clinical studies– In an impact study on one of CTSI’s small grants programs,

an investment of $485,000 resulted in $14 million in new research funding for UCSF

• 100% increase in competitive career development grants for faculty scholars
