WHO SHOULD ATTENDLocal and regional community providers for breast cancer patients, fellows and other clinical trainees

COURSE DESCRIPTIONThe two day program will provide important recent practice-changing updates in the field of breast cancer management including the subspecialty fields of surgery, radiation therapy, pathology, radiology, medical oncology, genetics and plastic surgery. Speakers and panelist members for case-based discussions will be academic specialists from the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, University of Washington, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and other well-respected centers. Far-ranging areas of consensus and controversy will be presented and discussed with the audience. The goal is to ensure that audience members leave with a refreshed understanding of state-of-the-art breast cancer care.

COURSE OBJECTIVESUpon completion of this activity, attendees should be able to:• Describe the pathogenesis, diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic advances for integration into the management of newly diagnosed breast cancer• Describe the therapeutic modalities available for advanced breast cancer• Describe evidence-based recommendations for supportive care and survivorship• Describe how a diagnosis of breast cancer in those diagnosed at a young age may differ from those diagnosed in a postmenopausal state

ACCREDITATIONThe University of Washington School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Washington School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 13.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

CONFERENCE SYLLABUS IS GOING GREENSyllabus materials will be available for download at uwcme.org (for conference registrants only). The password for the download website will be sent with your registration confirmation email. Materials will be available from October 21 - November 15, 2013, for registrants to print and/or download. A booklet with the conference agenda and pages for note-taking will be provided at the conference.

ATTENDANCE POLICYCourse activities are exclusively reserved for course attendees. Badges provided at registration are required for entrance into all functions and will be strictly enforced.

CANCELLATION POLICYThe Office of Continuing Medical Education must receive written notification of your cancellation by October 14, 2013. A $50.00 processing fee will be deducted from refund requests received by this date. No refunds will be issued following October 14, 2013. The Office of Continuing Medical Education reserves the right to cancel this course twenty (20) days prior to the course date when a minimum enrollment is not met or for other reasons that prevent the University from holding the course. Each registrant will be notified by telephone followed by written notification and a full refund.
