Definitions

• Digital literacies are those capabilities which fit an individual for living, learning and working in a digital society. JISC

• Digital literacy is “the ability to use information and communication technology to find, evaluate, create and communicate information. (American Library Association)

• Tool knowledge + critical thinking +social engagement (J. Fraser, social and educational technologist)

• Set of social practices & meaning making of digital tools (Landshear & Knobel, 2008)

WHY THIS TOPIC?
