• Global issue with local implications

• Affects systems in which we live (air, water, food, shelter)

• Effects are more serious for vulnerable populations and communities and can exacerbate health inequities

• Health and public health officials already working in this space, whether they recognize it or not (improving transit, strengthening local food systems)

• Environmental health/justice issues that funders are addressing are linked to forces that are driving climate change
