Impact survey – NEW 2014

• We requested your feedback on dissemination and use of the 2013 EU/EEA and the country reports.

– For a full feedback on the 22 responses don’t miss tomorrow’s session 5 by Amanda and Signe!

• Encouraging comments made included, e.g.

– “Thank you…these reports are high quality and useful documents for strengthening of laboratory capacities in the future”.

– “Survey could be used to drive improvements through laboratory networks and also through preparedness assessments”.

Feedback on EULabCap tool and data collection

• Frequency of data collection

- “bi-annual versus annual ?”

• Indicator clarity and balance between extensiveness and precision

– “Improve clarity and complexity of some indicators”.

– “Increase number of indicators for precision versus reduce breadth”.

– “Focus on important weaknesses in the surveillance systems”.

Feedback on EULabCap analysis and reporting

• Reporting format

– “Make analysis and report less complicated to increase understanding and to make sense of the information”.

– “Focus annual reports on the major changes each year”.

– “Link analysis to resource allocation at country level”.

– “Consider translation to national language”.

• Timeliness of reporting

– “Need to make it more contemporary (i.e. 2015 report available end of Q1 2016)”.

Proposed changes - 2015 data entry tool

1. Changes agreed upon at this meeting – indicator scores.

2. Merge the Excel sheets into a single one.

3. Pre-populate the data entry sheet with 20 ECDC indicators for 2015 (locked for editing) for your validation only

– disagreements could be documented either by email/ or under “additional information”.

4. Pre-populate the data entry sheet with the 60 indicator data for 2014 (locked for editing) for perusal as your country reference.
