The Winder Clinic, formerly the Nisqually Clinic, was recently renamed to memorialize Sgt. 1st Class Nathan L. Winder, a special forces medic who died in 2007 from wounds sustained while conducting combat operations in Iraq.

The Okubo Clinic was named in honor of T/5 James Okubo who enlisted and served as a medic in the famous 442nd. Despite the internment of his family in the Japanese-American Camps, he served his country valiantly and was awarded the Medal of Honor. His citation notes extraordinary acts of heroism, exposing himself to the constant barrage of enemy gun fire to render medical care to save the lives of over 25 men.

You have the right, without recrimination, to voice concerns regarding your care and to have those issues reviewed and resolved. This can be accomplished by speaking with the unit or clinic officer in charge (OIC), the noncommissioned officer in charge (NCOIC) or by contacting the Patient Advocacy Office.

Beneficiary Counseling and Assistance Program

• Department of Defense Program• Created to provide assistance in processing claims, counseling on TRICARE program benefits • Assist in resolving issues with access to care

Provides assistance in relieving you of medical or dental debts that should have been paid by the Army

• Assist the beneficiary to obtain determination• Transmit documentation to the Managed Care Support Contractors

(MCSC), MEDCOM, TRICARE Management Activity, civilian Collection Agencies and Providers

• Collect pertinent information to assist/support you and your family members

• Make appropriate referrals to JAG on your behalf
