Definition of coaching

“Coaching is about performing at your best through the individual and private assistance of someone who will challenge, stimulate and guide you to keep growing.” Essentially it is about helping you to reach self-actualization - a point at which you not only truly know yourself but within this knowledge possess a feeling of comfort with and understanding of the person you discover. Coaching is a simple yet effective form of personal development where client and Coach create an alliance that promotes and sustains the client's personal growth and competence. The Coach aids the client in finding what is important and helps to create a purposeful life that promotes those qualities or ideals, enabling the client to live a fuller and richer life. Not to be confused with therapy or counseling, Life Coaching involves the development of a special relationship between the coach and the client which, rather than looking to the past, plans for the future. As apposed to focusing on one or two past events it has a more holistic approach aimed at dealing with all matters effecting the client’s achievement of a fulfilling, successful and stress-free life People who seek out coaches are frequently not sure what they want out of life and coaches help them identify and then put in place the steps needed to realize their dreams.
