Passive TransportersPassive transporters are trans membrane proteins that catalyze migration of molecules into or out of cells.

The main passive transporters found within the cell membrane. they are,

Glucose Transporter 2, Aquaporins.

Glucose Transporter 2 GLUT2 (facilitated glucose transporter) is a trans membrane carrier protein that enables passive glucose movement across cell membranes.

It is the principal transporter of glucose between liver & blood.

AquaporinsAquaporins are proteins embedded in the cell membrane that regulate the water flow.

Aquaporins are integral membrane proteins from a larger family of major intrinsic proteins (MIP) that form pores in the membrane of biological cells.

Aquaporins selectively conduct water molecules in & out of the cell, while preventing passage of ions & other solutes.
