4 critical areas
#MDOWebinar
first critical area: understand needs of stakeholders and the broad context of disease to see where you can add value
#MDOWebinar 33
#MDOWebinar
adding value through user centered design: - determine where users want and need info - be relevant and brief - make it actionable - draw them in with the help of elegance
#MDOWebinar
second critical area: cut through the hype of engagement use the evidence-based research
#MDOWebinar 36
ask “Will my users use it?” not simply “Can they use it?”
#MDOWebinar 37
#MDOWebinar 38
#MDOWebinar
behavioral psychology and economics suggest: - reduce obstacles to making choice - know what rewards and when - familiar feels better
#MDOWebinar 40
be aware of what you are asking users to give up,
not just what they’ll gain
#MDOWebinar
third critical area: choose your technology and design to make your product get used - not just be cool and new

#MDOWebinar 43
#MDOWebinar 44
cannibalize your own products, expand your
team’s skill sets
#MDOWebinar 45
#MDOWebinar
fourth critical area: understand how the FDA affects your product and the way you’ll need to develop it
