ProMIS has unique facilities for integrating and developing local curriculum: the ProMIS Open Module and ContentCreationTool enable any surgical task to be integrated into the ProMIS curriculum—with associated user records and metrics. ProMIS Modules range from Basic Laparoscopic Skills to procedures such as LapAppendectomy and LapColectomy. ProMIS meets the ACS & ACGME RRC requirements for simulation. Users start by selecting the appropriate (real) instruments and port positions and then perform a full Appendectomy, including: Investigating and locating the Appendix; Freeing up the appendix and cutting through adhesions; Dissecting the mesoappendix using diathermy Applying endoloops or clips; Dissecting and removing the appendix.
