• It provides background information on the legislation and AMCP’s position.
• The Action Alert has a hyperlink directing you to an email message AMCP has prepared for you to send.
Why Respond to an Alert?
Deliver a consistent message to elected officials• If all AMCP members deliver the same message, it has a
more powerful impact.
Increase AMCP’s Impact With Broad Messaging• The greater the number of AMCP members who send an
email, the more legislators we can reach together.
Increase AMCP’s Impact with Repeated Messaging
• The greater the number of AMCP members who send an email, the better the chance that legislators will receive more than one copy.
Guaranteed Delivery of Your Message
• When you send your message through AMCP’s Action Alert email system, the message is guaranteed to be delivered.
• No firewalls or spam filters will get in the way.• By entering your home address, it guarantees
the message will go to your correct elected official.
Why Respond to an Alert?
AMCP only sends Action Alerts when it is strategically valuable.
• These emails have the most impact when elected officials receive them at a politically strategic point in time, e.g. immediately before a hearing or a vote.
AMCP does not send action alerts very often – only when it’s important and strategically valuable.
Why Respond to an Alert?
• Action Alerts are Urgent
• It’s important to respond within 24-48 hours
• You must reach the elected official before they vote.
