Many pathological processes in humans are very related with a lot of genes and dysfunctional proteins

All of this knowledge can get us closer to the cure of many pathologys

Alzheimer's protein spreads through space between brain cells.Columbia University Medical Center. (2016, june 20 ).

Page 6: The cell & evolution

• Alzheimer disease is a condition caused by 2 main alterations: 1- abnormal tau protein or 2- btea- amiloid plaques in nervious cells.

• Tau protein jumps from neuron to neuron using the extracellular space

patients often show symptoms related with a worst ability to take in and remember new information, Impairments to reasoning, complex tasking, exercising judgment, Impaired visuospatial abilities, Impaired speaking, reading and writing & Changes in personality and behavior.

• The researchers could use antibodies to stop the protein while it use the extracellular liquid to spread around the brain.

Page 9: The cell & evolution

Personal opinion:It´s an important research because might help to avoid a bigger brain damage blocking the protein while they are in the extracellular space , controlling the Alzheimer spread.

Parkinson's: Mutant gene interaction may pave the way for new treatments.University of Alabama at Birmingham . (2016, july 13).

Page 11: The cell & evolution

Parkinson is a disease that compromise dopaminergic cells of some regions of the brain and produce slowness of movement, tremors, and rigidity.

Page 12: The cell & evolution

• Enviromental factors and genetic predisposition are the main causes of Parkinson (epigenetic)

• The pathology process is related with alpha-synuclein inclusions in the brain cells promoted by the mutant gen of leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2).

Page 13: The cell & evolution

• Inhibiting the mutant gen decrease the alpha-synuclein inclusions

The Parkinson’s disease is a common disease around the world and currently it doesn’t have a cure, those new discoveries are a great advance in the development of one, and as the protein is said to be linked to other neurodegenerative disorders, that cure might be used to treat them also.

In both article we have seen the importance of recognize cellular mechanisms and genetic information to identify pathogenesis and possible targets for the cure of these diseases .

Genetic information isn’t the only factor who determinate the illness state, eniviroment also plays an important role, for example y the Parkinson disease
