First Aid Procedures

If an employee witnesses an accident they should:

1. Contact a first aider immediately or emergency services if urgent

2. Talk to the injured person and keep them calm

3. Wait with the person until help arrives

4. Complete the following forms Accident Report Form Accident Book

Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

Employer Responsibilities Provide safe entrance and

exit to work Ensure safe methods of

working Provide safe, maintained

equipment Provide protective clothing Prepare and update health

and safety policy

Employee Responsibilities To take reasonable care of

own health and safety and that of colleagues

To cooperate with employer on health and safety

Not to misuse anything provided for health and safety

Employers Must: Appoint a first aid person in the
