| WHAT IS EMDR? |
“Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, also
known as EMDR, is an evidence-based psychotherapy for
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other mental
health problems, such as depression, anxiety and somatic
symptoms. EMDR was created by American psychologist
Francine Shapiro in the early 1980’s when she realized
that moving her eyes from side to side helped her reduce
her own depressive thoughts.”
