DENTAL IMPLANTS Reports said that there are millions of American that suffer from tooth loss due to

gingivitis, tooth decay, and injury that impacts the teeth. This is just the American statistics; can

you just imagine what could be the numbers for the world? It used to be that only dental bridges

and dentures are available for missing teeth but today people have the option to have dental

implants.

Dental Crowns serve as replacements for tooth roots. These provide a strong foundation

for fixed and for removable placement teeth. They are all made to look like original teeth. This is

one of the major advantages of having dental implants; the others are that of improved,

appearance and with it a more robust self-esteem and self-confidence. It can also help in a

person’s speaking ability since it eliminates the fear that the dentures might fall off while

speaking. It is also easier to make the dental implants part of who you are because it is very

comfortable to use. Dental implants can also do wonders with the way you chew food, and that

makes it eating more of a pleasure. Without being obvious, dental implants can promote better

oral hygiene since more of the natural teeth are left intact and such implants also provide better

access in between the teeth which makes it more conducive to oral hygiene.

Such implants are also known to be quite durable and they can last for a very long time,

even a lifetime, when you take good care of it. Unlike removable dentures, you need not remove

them; and you need not worry about the messy adhesive that you need to keep it on. Dental

implants also have a high chance of success which is 98 percent although it matters where the

dental implants are placed on the jaw.

About who will be able to have dental implants, it can be anyone who is capable of handling a

dental extraction or oral surgery. Such patients should also have enough amounts of bone and

healthy gums for them to wear dental implants. It is a must that the person practices good oral

hygiene and is also committed to go through regular dental visits. Those people who suffer from

diabetes or heart condition and those who have just gone through radiation therapy on the neck

and the head area have to be personally evaluated by the dentist and the physician first before

going through the dental implant procedure.

DENTAL IMPLANTS Dental implants will not cause pain when placed. There might be slight discomfort but

that’s just that. Any sensitivity after the procedure can be cured by any over the counter pain

reliever. Local anesthesia may be used in the procedure as well.

There is no special care required for dental implants. All you have to do is to practice

good oral hygiene. Make sure that you brush your teeth at least twice daily after a huge meal and

also make it a point to floss and to use antiseptic mouthwash every day.
