Benefits of Carrot Juice
Carrot juice contains rich proportions of beta carotene,
which helps maintain strong eyesight.
This beta-carotene is a carotenoid pigment found in many orange
colored fruits and vegetables, which is a rich source for vitamin A.
Carrot juice also contains lutein, which is an
antioxidant. Lutein helps in increasing
pigment density in the ‘macula’,
which is the oval-shaped yellow
area near the retina of the eye.
The greater the pigment density
in the macula, better protection
it offers to your retina.
Lack of Vitamin A, however, often causes night blindness. In extreme cases, it may also result in xerophthalmia, in which the eyes are unable to produce tears and also results in the dryness of the eyes, swollen eyelids and corneal ulcers.
