2. What is PVL-SA? SA is a bacterium that commonly lives onhealthy skin PVL is a toxin produced by some strains of SA Damages white blood cells Carried by less than 2% ofSA 3. Clinical Features All SA including PVL-SAs can cause harm ifthey get an opportunity to enter the body -cut/graze Can cause boils or skin abscesses Infections of the lungs, blood, joints andbones Some SA are more likely to causeinfections than others 4.
