SNAIL EMAIL VS EMAIL

• Delivery: Snail mail is sent by a mail deliverer/carrier. Whereas emails are sent and delivered using internet and wireless. Snail mail is received in a home box or post office, whereas email is received in the email provider your sign up with e.g. Gmail

• Address : Snail mail contain fuller information and address. Where as emails contain only your names and the email provider your with. Emails only show the information you want people to see (privacy option).

• Time : Snail mail takes days or more to be sent, whereas email sent in minute depend on your internet wifi quality.

• Content: Snail mail can contain documents and large items, whereas mail only can send digital production and documents.

• costs: snail mail will cost a stamp but it might be more expensive depending on the distance and places and item sizes. Whereas email only cost internet connection.

• Productivity tool: Instant messaging, automatically provide necessary information.

• Easy mail management: It provide files and it easier to manage your email in Category.

• Communicate with multiple people: can have conversation in groups at the same time.

• Private: personal information and details are more private and reliable. Emailing directly is more trust worthy when it comes to important information.

• Access to web service : you can access to links and online service such as Facebook or link to important information.

• access flexibility: you can access your email anytime and anywhere as long as your connect to internet. Making life more easier and more reliable.

• Example : [email protected] • “17rahma” is the user name “@” is at “student etc.” is email provider • Some emails contain numbers to avoid name mixed up or duplication. • Email provider : is a free web base email service such as: Yahoo!, Gmail, Hotmail etc. • Web domains : “.com” is a web domains , ”.gov” is a government website, “.org” is a

non profit organization.

• Productivity suite: e.g. Facebook chat, Gmail, skype etc., is a application that help you communicate , work or socialize.

• Instant message: is a basic conversation chat room/service.• Online address book : where you can store contact information in the contact section. • Online calendar : help you organize and share that schedules with other. • A profile picture: that contain your image, basic public information like your name and

contact.

• Choose email provider • Insert Names and details• Create email address and Password• Start log in to your email • Add contacts • start using email by composing message and sharing your email address to

trusted friends and people.

EMAIL SAFETY - Always avoid sending about your sensitive information such as: credit card number,

social security number, or passwords.

- Spam : spam is usually unnecessary email such as advertisement and junk mail. You can delete or ignore these mails.

- Phishing : some meals that pretend to be bank your trusted source to steal your information. Especially the one requesting you an urgent response.

- Attachment : it is a attachment of documentary or files that required you to download in order to see it.

BASIC DETAILS ABOUT EMAILING USING WEB EMAIL SERVICE “GMAIL”

INBOX Compose : select to write a mail to people.

Email sender: people who have sent you an email.

Email subject: what your senders email subject is about. It is what the overall letter is about.

Date: it is the day that the email is sent or received by you.

MESSAGE PANE Back to inbox: to go back to where you can see all the emails you’ve received.

More actions: it provides more option to improve or adjust your composed email.

Newer and older messages: it is where you can find your older and new messages that you’ve received.

Show details: it is where you see who your sending is sending the email to. (only you or more can be seen)

Reply option: it is where you respond too your sender after reading there email they've sent to you.

COMPOSE PANE Subjects: This is what it should look like if your writing or sending an email to someone. It has the subject of the email in the third rows which then displayed on the first row as well.

Name: The person email address or contact name on the second rows.

Message: Your message/email in the big box. It is where you can write your message and attach/drag files in to send it to your contact friends.

MESSAGE PANETo : where you insert the person email address if you want to email them.

Cc : also known as carbon copy, the person who is not your main attention to but has a copy of your email too.

Bcc: is also know as blind carbon copy. It is similar to Cc, however it provide privacy when you need to send an email to a large number of people, the email address in the Bcc fields are hidden.

Signature at end of every email you send. Which usually contain your name, contact and your company if you are sending an email for work purpose.

MESSAGE PANE. The list of option along the right side column provide a category to organize your emails in the following files.

To create a group chat, select compose message (red “compose”) add the people you want to have a group chat with and at the bottom where it said “lick here” that where you enter your message or attach files etc.
