In order to help you prepare for the Photoshoot, I have listed a range of facial expressions and poses that I would like you to do on the day of shooting.
Replicate the images on each page in your spare time so you get a greater understanding of what is expected and can practice to perfect them.
Brief annotations are included to help you.
The majority of shots will be taken using direct address meaning you will be looking directly into the camera.
On the day of shooting, numerous photos of each expression and pose will be taken from every angle. This will then be repeated over again for each location so that we have a wide and varied collection to choose the final images from.
The props will be provided for you.
Practical:• Closed mouth• Direct eye line• Slight
frown/serious expression
• Engaged on business
• Edgy and rebellious
Cheeky Smile:• Smirking• As if you’re trying to
hold your laugh in• Mischievous• Lips closed and
stretched• Direct Eye line• Head slightly tilted
down
Comic:• Exaggerated• Pulling faces for
audience benefit• Acting the fool• Rock pose• Gritted teeth or
mouth open• Face scrunched
Carefree:• Neutral• Relaxed• Slight Smile• Lips Closed• Direct Eye
contact• Straight
posture• Eyes wide open
These poses will feature in shots of you standing up and will be taken from a range of high and low angles from different sides. They are all quite laid back and nonchalant stances
The props that will be used in the photoshoot consist of a black electro-acoustic guitar and chairs/benches to sit on. When holding or sitting on the props your poses may differ slightly and may look like the following:
