What is Leadership? Leadership is about having the courage to be yourself, the willingness to put yourself at risk when you are needed by your group, and the ability to harness your position and power in order to take your group to a better place.

Who are you?

Where do you want to take your group? Why should your group be lead by you?

“Courage is rightly esteemed the first of human qualities, because it is the quality that guarantees all others.” - Winston Churchill

My Top Four Lessons in Leadership Know thyself – the first rule of leadership is always to know your personal strengths and weaknesses in order to know what you offer the people you

lead. !

Understand and be able to work with a wide variety of

others – Don’t only be aware of yourself, but be aware of

others.!

Be able to hear and actively manage conflict – conflict is inevitable working in your groups, the key is actually

how you manage it. !

Your best job is the best fit with who you are – you will be most happy, productive, and successful when you find a

job that is a good fit with who you are (i.e., personality and

values).!
