Teenagers are stereotyped to be emotional, dramatic and inconsiderate of others feelings. This can be shown through the mise-en-scene in our film, an example of this would be clothes. This can be seen in our opening scene when Lora leaves her house due to her parents arguing, she angrily opens and slams the door. This keeps up the representation of teenagers being young, free and angry.

Our media piece represents various social groups. This can be seen as the main character is a teenager, we chose this age range to show the struggles an ‘everyday’ teenager. We show this in the scene where Lora is looking down and the parents are arguing in the background, this is a common happening that occurs in many teenagers’ lives. This could be because of a stressful situation taking place with the parents which usually would affect the rest of the family.

Lora wore a black top and black jeans. The colour black symbolises power, elegance, formality, anger, death, evil, and mystery. Black is a mysterious colour associated with fear and the unknown (black holes). It usually has a negative connotation. Lora’s clothes represented teen angst and mystery. in doing this, Lora fails to tell her parents that she is leaving the house, his highlights how inconsiderate she is and shows how her parent’s arguing affects her.
