Giza 45, The best Cotton
Giza 45 plants are grown in a small area east of the Nile delta, researching every year the
most suitable position and represent the 0.4% of the total annual production of Egyptian
cotton.
The harvesting takes place in five phases in order to
pick up at each step only the flakes at the right degree of ripeness.
Crop care and hand-picking prevents the use of defoliants and other chemicals, commonly
used in mechanized harvesting
Cotton is planted in late March when the weather is a little cool, allowing the production of
branches in the lower part of the plant.
Accrued cotton flakes in the shade are not as affected by the direct heat of the Sun.
In July and August, during the formation of cotton fibers, the climate is very stable and
favorable for the production of uniform and regular fibres collected then in September.
The Giza 45 cotton fibers have a very high length 36 mm with a uniformity of 88.5%. But
what makes this exceptional cotton is the finesse of these fibres, as measured by average of
2.95 micronaire,
the best of the Extra Long Staple cotton
Despite this the resistance of fibre fineness of Giza 45 remains high, amounting on average
to 44.30 gram/tex, similar to that of less purpose such as cotton Giza 88. From this mix of
finesse and strength you will get the best yarns in the world since, with the same diameter
(title) of the yarn, you can connect the wire section a much greater number of elementary
fibres
For strength, cleanliness and regularity are the unique characteristics of excellence of Giza
45, which produce extremely fine yarns and fabrics, durable,
with one hand only extraordinarily soft and silky to the best Shirts World
