Searching for Housing The University does not have dormitories or any on-campus housing, but does have an Office of Student Housing to assist students in finding off-campus housing.

The service offers listings of apartments and houses to rent or share, as well as home-stay and short term accommodations.

The Office of Student Housing (OSH) acts in an advisory capacity only and does not make reservations, appointments, or rental commitments nor does OSH participate in any negotiations with landlords on a student’s behalf. Individuals must, on their own, meet with the landlords, inspect the apartments, and make the lease arrangements

Ways to Find Housing

You almost certainly know about Craigslist; without a doubt the site containing the highest volume of apartments and rooms available. But if you’re looking for some extra ways to find Boston apartments or rooms (though not always as many), you have some options:

1. Roommate Matching Program:  UMass Boston Off Campus Housing Gateway. This web-based self-service portal is intended to allow students to create a profile, answer a questionnaire about living styles and preferences, and even upload pictures to share. Once a student has created a profile, the system generates a list of thcompatible roommates http://www.umb.edu/life_on_campus/housing/find_roommate- http://www.umb.edu/life_on_campus/housing/find_roommate/osh_request_key_code.
