Current Issue:There is currently a major increase in themale bueaty market and this is occurringdue to males wanting to look goodbecause of the way in which the mediaportray men to look in clothing adds suchas Armani jeans or Calvin Klineunderwear and also the ways thatcelebrities are made to look in magazinesand TV on shows such as the only way isEssex and made in Chelsea. This hascaused a major increase in young maleappearance. Many young people are selfconscious when leaving there homes,even to walk down the road to their localcorner shop. I want to find out what youngpeoples opinions are on the malegrooming market and see if men arebecoming as self conscious to look goodas much as women. 3. Target market:My documentary is targeted at young people aged between16-25. This is because the issue has more of a relevance tothem. Many young males dont tend to watch documentarieshowever because my topic has an has a impact on their dayto day lives it should fit well into the market. 4. Gap in the market There is currently a documentary that is on channel 4 which very briefly Covers the facts in the intro about male grooming However, this show is mainly about a man who Is trying to become like a magazine fit model. It does not cover the in- depth growth of male grooming and how this effects young people. My documentary will be covering the aspectThere is a large gap in the market for myof weather males are becoming more selfdocumentary to fit in as there is no current contusions about the wayshow that explains the impact of malethat they appear as muchgrooming and how it effects young people.as women. 5. Location:?I will film my documentary at the salon where I will be talking toprofessionals about male grooming, outside university of fashion andfashion events such as Road show live.Who?I will present the documentary and will introduce the issue as well asask the questions.Why?I will produce this documentary to create awareness of the issue thatyoung males have when it comes to the way that they look.
