Facts:
• Had 6 wives.

• Had extremely large
armor.
Facts:
• First ruler of England who
didn’t rule with a King. She
was also he most educated
woman of her time.
• She united her people who
were separated by religion.
• Locked in jail by her own
sister Mary.(Bloody Mary)
Facts:
• The most powerful ruler of his time.
• Caused the Revolt of the Comunors.
• Once he abdicated he went to live in a monastery where he lived for 2 years.

possessions.
She was the most
educated woman of
her generation. Her
tutor was Kat Ashley.
Catherine of Aragon 1509-1533: They
were married for 24 years. After giving birth
to Mary they later divorced.
Ann Boleyn 1533-1536: Henry
wanted a son but Ann gave birth
to Elizabeth and was then
executed.
Jane Seymour 1536-1537: She
gave birth to one son but died in
child birth. Her son also died at the
age of 15.
Henry VIII Wives
Ann of Cleves 1540 Jan.-July: Henry
married her only for the assistance
against Charles V. They later
separated
Catharine Howard 1540-1542:
Married for the favoritism of
Catholics. She was executed.
Catherine Parr 1543-1547: She
helped nurse Henry in his old age
until his death.
King Charles V
• Wanted to become Holy
Roman Emperor.
• Took money from the
Castilians.
• Angry Castilians led to the
Revolt of the Commoners.
• Toledo was the first city to
rebel, led by Juan de
Padilla.
• The king came together
with the Castilian Nobles
and they fought together
against the rebels.
• She managed to restrain
Catholic opposition
• She also held back the
Puritan threat to her
church.
• When she became queen
it was possible that the
majority of her subjects
were Catholic but when
she died almost all of
them became Protestants.
• His third invasion of France.
• 1543 he made an alliance with Charles V
• Over the years neither England nor France could find the strength to engage in an all out war with one another.
• After 34 years of reign
he was emotionally
and physically drained
so he went to San
Jeronimo de Yuste
monastery where he
lived for 2 years until
his death at the age of
58.
• Mary Queen of Scots
was not recognized in
King Henry VIII’s will.
This made her furious!
She plotted against
Queen Elizabeth and
was later executed for
doing so.
• For a tall man he
weighed around 180-
200lbs.
• The waist of his armor
was 34-36 inches.
