The storyline in this music video is a very stereotypical view on teenagers going through the ‘crush’s’ Stage.

It follows the codes and conventions of a typical love song music video.

Very corny and cringe which is why it has millions of views on YouTube years after it was released.

The way that the storyline was layed made it look like it had been a past experience

Many young teenagers can relate to this song which is the target audience Taylor was aiming for.

Stereotypes of High School which the

audience relate to when watching the Music

Video.

This music video by Taylor Swift called ‘You Belong With Me’ is one of my personal favourites because when I watch Music Videos I am most interested in the storyline and how it links with the songs lyrics. In this video I think that this was successful and you could see that the story behind it may have hints of previous experiences in her life when she was the age that she was portraying. As a young teen when I first watched this video, I felt like I could relate to some of the things going on in Music Video and the Lyrics.

The music video has the typical stereotypes of high school such as the popular girls, football boys and the geeks. Because these characters are very over exaggerated I think that they make the video funnier and comical because everyone knows these characters and have them in there own school which makes it more relatable.
