For my questionnaire, I asked 15

people. 50% of them were

female and 50% were male. I

asked an even amount of gender

because I wanted to see what

both boys and girls would say.

I asked a range of school age children to fill out my

questionnaire. This is because I wanted to get a specific age

for my target audience so that it will be easy for me to know

what type of things to add in my music video, digipak and

website. This way I am able to attract my target and provide

all the features they look for across all my production tasks.

From the results of my

questionnaire, the majority

(11) of teens said that pop

was their favourite music

genre. This indicates that I

may want to consider using

the genre of pop to complete

my music video, digipak and

website as it was highly liked

by teens. My target audience

will be from the ages 13-17.

Following under pop was RnB.

Many artists like Beyoncé,

Rihanna, Cher Lloyd, Alicia

Keys, Little mix are diverse

and sing both genres. Where

my main target audience is

for pop, I am also able to

attract teens who enjoy RnB

which would mean that I

would be able to reach my

secondary audience .

9 people said that they prefer bands rather than solo

artists. This shows me that I may want to consider

using a band for my music video because it will appeal

to more teens. However, the remanding people that

said they prefer solo artists said they also like bands.

13 people said that they do watch music videos. This is

good because it shows that my target audience enjoy

music videos therefore my music video is likely to be

watched by teens. The two that said they don’t watch

music videos is because they prefer to just listen to music

as opposed to watching music videos.

The majority of teens said that they do visit artist websites. They said

they go on them because they like to feel close to the artists and see

what their websites have to offer and any information which they feel

is important to know e.g. concert dates.

This shows that my artist website will have to be well detailed and

include all the features that teens look for.

9 people said that they look for images, videos, concert

information and new music on an artists website. This

shows me that my website will have to include images of

the celebrity, easily accessible music videos and more in

order for it to be effective and enjoyable.

The 13-17 year olds said they do buy CD’s. The

11-12 year olds said they did not. This may be

because technology is advancing and now a days

you can listen to artists' music for free on

websites such as YouTube. My CD will have to

appeal to the 13-17 so that they will want to

purchase it.

The majority of teens said that they look for

the booklets when they buy a CD. This may

be because it contains images of the

celebrity which can only be seen if you

purchase the CD. The remanding said they

look for exclusive songs when purchasing and

album.

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube

were the most popular social networking

sites that the teens use. This shows me that I

will need to incorporate them into my

website as it will allow young people to be

interactive and share their thoughts about

the artist.

Finally, most of the teens said that they mainly see artists music advertised on the internet. This can be from social networking sites to the artists actual website. This shows that I will have to use social networking to promote the artists new music video as well as the website.
