Background of SOSD
Founded in July 2011
Registered as a Society in February 2012
Officially registered as a Charity on 23 April 2013
Repositioned as a humane society with an interest in street dogs in Sep 2013
Mission Statement
To save street dogs and give them a chance in life by rehabilitating and re-homing them, in turn giving them a useful role in our community. We also hope to educate the public and foster tolerance towards Singapore's street dogs
Funding Requirement
SOSD relies heavily on ad hoc donations from the public to sustain our operating costs, consisting mainly of rescue work, veterinary bills and the long-term boarding of our existing shelter located at Pasir Ris Farmway 2.
The allocation of our free-will donation is shown below: Rescue work - 50%
Kennel food and long-term boarding - 30%
Kennel maintenance - 15%
Administrative - 5%
Costs of maintaining SOSD is only expected to rise over the next few years as we rescue more dogs We are also currently the only active humane society in Singapore that carries out a nationwide street dog sterilization program. This nationwide project is fully funded by SOSD. With over 7,000 street
dogs in Singapore, it is estimated to cost about SG$1.2 Million.
The veterinary bills and long-term boarding of our existing shelter takes up about 70% of our total
annual operating costs. The projected annual operating costs of SOSD is SG$400,000.

With the mission statement in mind, we are reaching out to the public and several educational institutions so that we can give talks and educate them by fostering tolerance towards dogs in Singapore. Some benefits that you can reap by being our sponsors or donors:
Brand differentiation
Change/ Strengthen brand image
Increasing visibility to market
Highlighting corporate responsibility
