The extremely convenient public transportation system encourages the residents to use it frequently!

YouBike is a public transportation option, residents can simply rent it

with the transportation card.

People are friendly and open, they volunteer or donate. The photo is the receipt(which you can be

rewarded from it) donation.

The genuine care for the society allows people to be

very involved in all the public issues.

The balanced life: People in Taipei are relatively happy, and dare to pursue what

they want.

Cultural education takes up a very

important part of Taipei, from school

education to all kinds of exhibitions,

performances, lectures etc. It builds up the cultural mindset and helps to preserve the important heritage of

the country.

Charities, NGOs and Foundations are involved in social issue too, and more

than a half of the Taiwanese are into the philanthropy.

Corporates in Taipei are involved in developing the green business and green

products.

More and more shops collaborate with farmers

from rural Taiwan and offer direct fair-trade business.

Certain business/institution offer jobs for

minorities and disabilities.

Littering will be fined in Taipei, and all the residents are obligated to use certain trash bags(that you can buy from the supermarkets or the convenient stores) for

their trashes.

According to the Taiwanese law, smoking is not

allowed in any indoor environment.

The famous health insurance allows the residents to access medical care and health care

at a low cost (doctors’ diagnosis with prescriptions as well as the medicine for a

cold is around 5 euros.)

The Dilemma:The political situation with

China has put Taiwan/Taipei into the dilemma of whether to be more open or close off to the international market. This problem also cause a

certain amount of tension to the society.

The Wage:It has been more than 20

years since the last raise of the minimum wage. As the housing price in Taipei has become unexpectedly high over the past few years, the

life in Taipei is getting tougher.

The Settlement:People are sometimes too settled, which makes the society lack of significant

progression.
