Different types of leathers used for making jackets
A number of leather types are used for making jackets for women. Due to this reason texture and feel of diverse leathers jackets differ
Aniline
This material type lasts longer than many other types of hides. The name of the leather comes from the chemical “aniline” used for treating it. The chemical helps in retaining the natural characteristics of the material. It is often used for making brown leather jackets for women
Nappa
Nappa is a high grade leather and therefore priced higher than many other types of leather. The material is obtained from lamb and sheep hide. It is soft, supple and lasts for a long time
This type of leather is made from the underside of leather. It can be easily stained. It looks similar to Nappa but doesn’t last as long as the above hide type
Nubuck
Jackets for women made from this leather have a velvety and soft feel. It is made of fool grain cattle hide. The top surface of the material is sanded for getting rid of skin imperfections and injury spots. Since the leather is prone to get stains easily, proper care of jackets made from this material should be taken.
