Morphology of an Auto KnifeWhat do you understand by an auto knife? A knife that automatically pops out the blade upon a pressing a button! Yes, this is the common answer. Usually these knives are automatic in their operation. Unlike their traditional counterparts, you don’t have to remove the knife from its case every now and then for use. All you need to do is simply push a button!
These knives have gained much popularity since its inception in the market. Owing to easy usability, these have almost replaced their older generation. Moreover since it requires less force for operation, people with arthritis can use it easily. Another added advantage is that it requires less space; you can even carry it in your pocket and purse.
Blade- This is the most important part of a knife. A knife is not a knife without this. These are made up of carbon steel or alloys of iron and carbon. It has a thick edge and an opposite sharp edge. While the thicker edge is used for maintaining the balance and grip many times, the sharper edge is used for cutting. Since they have a certain amount of iron within them, they are vulnerable to rust. Rusted blades are again a threat to health, when these are used for kitchen purposes. In order to avoid rusting of the blades quickly, they are available in covered cases.
