the arts, whether visual, culinary or performing, to millions of people throughout the years. The most
talented and creative artists from all over the world vie for the chance to share their work with the Festival’s

fine arts exhibition. South Floridians have voted the Festival the “Best” event held annually.
VISUAL ARTS
Art aficionados visit the Coconut Grove
Arts Festival in hopes of finding the
perfect piece for their home or office.
With some 380 internationally known
artists bringing their collections to the
Festival, visitors can browse through
the artists’ work to find
that special piece. The diverse artist
styles along the mile long stretch offer
so many choices from which visitors
may choose, including paintings,
sculptures, photogra- phy, woodwork
and more. The Coconut Grove Arts
Festival is committed to excellence in
the arts.
In honor of the Festival’s half-century
milestone, world-renowned Brazilian
artist Romero Britto created the 2013
commemorative poster once again
putting the Festival on a global stage.
Festival the distinction of #1 in the nation*.
PERFORMING ARTS
Adjacent to Biscayne Bay sits the lawns of picturesque Peacock Park and
during the Coconut Grove Arts Festival a musical Main Stage is added to its
beautiful lawns. Granting visitors an added auditory bonus, the Arts Festival
presents a variety of entertainment.International recording artists and local
fan favorites showcase a range of talent to eager audiences of all ages and
musical tastes. Jazz soloists, Americana rock bands and classical orchestras
add to the diverse lineup. Even chart topping pop artists, like Miami native
Cris Cab, who headline the 50th Anniversary Celebration, have taken
center stage at this signature event during this three-day mini music festival.
CULINARY ARTS
Complementing the visual arts on display is the popular Culinary Pavilion which invites world-renowned chefs to prepare
their famous dishes and explain their specialties. Reminiscent of show format’s made popular by The Food Network, live
demonstrations provide entertainment and education for all guests of the Pavilion.
RECREATIONAL ARTS
A true family event, the Arts Festival provides entertainment for all ages. With the addition of The Kid’s Express at the Fest booth,
sponsored by The Children’s Trust, in 2013, parents now have a choice between providing a tag-along lesson in the professional arts
or leaving children behind to creatively express themselves in a safe environment. Located near the Main Stage, the staffed arts area
encourages children to draw, paint, sculpt and design in a youthful perspective. Just outside this creative hub, children of all ages
(and even some adults) can also tap into their adventurous side by conquering bungee trampolines, bounce houses, tower slides and
obstacle courses.
FESTIVAL FACTS
The iconic neighborhood which launched the Arts Festival by the same
name, Coconut Grove, has long been considered Miamiʼs original art district.
In 1963 local theatre maven Charlie Cinnamon asked a handful of locals to
recreate an outdoor Parisian exhibition as a publicity stunt for the Coconut
Grove Playhouseʼs production of Irma la Douce. Nearly 50 years later, the
little clothesline arts fair became known as the Coconut Grove Arts Festival -
one of the largest in the nation.
According to the Greater Miami Convention Visitors Bureau, Presidentʼs Day
Weekend, which includes the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, sees more
tourists than any other weekend during the year.
Since its inception, the Coconut Grove Arts Festival has earned hundreds
of awards including consistently receiving nearly 10 awards a year by the
Florida Festival and Events Association, the International Festival and
Events Association and Sunshine Artist Magazine.
Approximately 380 artists were exclusively from a long range of applicants
who submitted samples in mixed media, painting, photography, digital art,
printmaking & drawing, watercolor, claywork, glass, fiber, jewelry and
metalwork, sculpture and wood.
More than 16 of the Arts Festivalʼs 31 posters have been inspired by its
surrounding tropical location, including a lush tree canopy and picturesque
views of sailboats on Biscayne Bay.
While celebrating its history in 2013, the 50th Anniversary Arts Festival also
welcomed 58 new artists from across the nation – the highest increase ever
of new artist acceptances.
Touted as one of the most successful sales platforms for participating artists,
the Coconut Grove Arts Festival has been quoted as the place where an
artist has sold “ALL of my large, originals,” “made well over $20,000 in
just three days” and has become the “best show in 16 years.”
