About This Presentation
• Rockit Results helped a local recruiting company
publicize its new program for unemployed workers, and
those who were looking to transition to a particular
industry
• These are the recommendations that we supplied to
this client
National Strategies
• Use Advanced Search to find tweets near you:
https://twitter.com/search-advanced
– Include words like “job opportunity” or “unemployed”
– This is a way to identify individuals that you can reach out to
• Search for Twitter personalities that talk about
unemployment, job searches, new careers, etc
– Then, tweet at them
– Also, tweet including their name, ie “We think @tonyrobbins
would love this chance to change your life [insert link]”
– Find media – search for “pitch me on Twitter,” “help a reporter
out,” or “HARO”

• Press Release: $250 via PRWeb
• Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/Unemployed/– Search for other related topics and items
– Your postings will be seen nationally, which will gain buzz, retweets, etc.
• Quora: http://www.quora.com/Unemployment– Search for other related questions
– Your postings will be seen nationally, which will gain buzz, retweets, etc.
• Post Relevant PowerPoint Decks and PDFs to SlideShare
• Set up an alert on http://www.helpareporter.com/

• Write an article for posting on these websites– EzineArticles
– Hub Pages
– Go Articles
– Article Dashboard
– Business Know-How
• Post this opportunity to Indeed.com. A paid campaign will help get the word out farther, but free is also a good option.
• Search for bloggers in this space – try “career transition blog” or “life after unemployment” blogs. Pitch them for a mention of the contest. Invite them to a bloggers-only webinar where you give the pitch.
• Comment on related blog topics, again found through searches.

• Consider a Facebook ad campaign targeting specific
demographics (say, men 20-50 living in Ohio), with no
job title or unemployed
• Same for LinkedIn, although LinkedIn ads tend to be
more expensive.
• This is a GREAT way to get the word out. I’d suggest
$250 per campaign will get you tons of impressions (ie,
eyeballs) and not spend too much money.
• Promote to Ohio-specific followers and fans, like
followers of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Browns, etc.

• Consider an online Facebook contest through
woobox.com or votigo.com

• Post ads about the program on CraigsList for your area
on a weekly basis
• LinkedIn – search for individuals and groups like “in
transition” or “job seekers” and post about the program
in those groups. Use your location as a filter.

• E-mail all your contacts
• Post to your own social media outlets
• If you use any sort of paid search (Bing, AdWords, etc),
be sure to post an ad campaign in your existing
channels
• If you use any local directories (YellowPages, Google
Business, CitySearch, etc) be sure to add a few lines
about the contest and a link to the website.
